Defiance opening two minutes review

The first thing shown in the opening to defiance is Hitler doing the nazi salute straight telling the audience that the film is about Nazi's. The clip starts in black and white representing that the film was set in older times. This shows to the viewers that the film is drama however the shots turn to clips of familys being taken by the nazi's showing to the audience that there's some action in the movie. Gunshots, screams and clips of dying drag in the more action seekers of the audience, where as the clips with the nazi's killing family members introduces the idea that the audience can relate to those familys. All this grabs the audience, making them want to see what's going to happen in later scenes, whether the familys are avenged or whether the massacre continues...
